UI / UX Designs

Is there any website or an application that you enjoyed to use ? If I ask you why you like this particular application then most of you would say that it is fluent, it's easy to use or the theme is so soothing.

So what is behind all these user friendly themes and designs ? The answer is, UI and UX designs. UI stands for User Interface while UX is used for User Experience. In today's world it is important to provide user friendly interface. Your application must be liked by everyone to the extent that they don't want to close that tab.

Now lets dig deep into UI and UX designs....

UI vs UX designs..

The first thing is that UI designs focus on the interface or the front end, the application is providing to the user. It has to deal with beauty. How beautiful, attractive and good-looking is your application; determines its User Interface.

While UX design deals with the experience of the user. Whether the user feels comfortable while using your application or he/she got a head ache while doing so.

So conclusively at this point we can say:
"UI is the beauty while UX is the character"
Now that we have understood these fancy terminologies, lets see how could we get better in these things..

Things that make better UI/ UX designs..

Colors & theme
Colors and theme matters a lot. But it depends upon the type of  your website or application. Food and cloths related applications are usually colorful while business sites are a bit formal. There are a plenty of websites where you can get the themes and color combinations for your application. Do consider these universally accepted themes while making your own application from scratch.

Visibility
The foremost thing is that the user must be able to read what is written on your application. The user must be able to differentiate between different sections of your application. If your application portions, buttons, input fields and margins are not clearly visible to the user then he/she would have a very hectic experience while using your application.

Fonts
Font type and the size of font should be considered while creating an application. This is much related to the visibility factor of your application. If the size of the font is too big or too small in both the cases user might get an eye pain. The font type or font family of your application depends upon the type of your application. Helvetica , Georgia and Times are some common font types used in applications. ( I never saw an application with cursive font by the way ! )

Animations
Animation is what increases the interest of user in using your application. But too much of it can distract user from the real purpose of application. So don't do too much ANYTHING !

Intuitive design
If the user finds it easy and comfortable to use your application then your design might be intuitive. Intuitive design is that which makes the life of user easy. The navigation bars, side bars, buttons, margins, each and everything say its purpose in an intuitive design. User need not to put any effort in finding and searching different items. The intuitive design leads the used to what he/she demands from the application.

Responsiveness
Your applications interface must be responsive. Responsiveness means that your application fits appropriately to the screen of different platforms. Like in mobile, tablet, PC and laptop your application shows the size of each content corresponding to the screen size.

Who does this ?

Those who create UI/UX designs are called UI/UX designers. Simple !

Conclusion..

You are a master as UX/UI designer. So it is in your hand how you make your application beautiful and worthy. The most important thing is to have a creative mind for doing this. Never come under the influence of so called UI/UX designs, as this will suppress your creativity. If you think that you can design better then go for it. Get some feedback from real world users in the domain of your application (especially). Then set some new standards, this is and will be how the UI/UX design industry grow.
